Koffi Coffee - Rancho Mirage

Palm Springs Coffee Roastery + Ethiopian Single Origin

Rancho Mirage Location for Koffi Coffee

I had the pleasure of travelling to Palm Springs California early October 2024 to learn and hang out with a number of procurement professionals who I’ve remained close to even though my career has taken a pivot towards facilitating digitally enabled knowledge workers.

Brewing coffee and seeing specialty coffee shops in my travels and consumption on a weekly basis has enriched my own curiosity further since discovering this trend and rabbit hole.

Given how close this coffee roastery I was introduced to was to the event, I had to stop by. It’s a relatively small shop with a couple of tables but the main attraction is that that they roast green coffee beans onsite. I visited on a Sunday when they aren’t roasting but they typically roast Monday through Friday.

As you can see from these two photos below, there are a ton of varieties from house blends, decaf, espresso, single origin and seasonal blends. All the tastes from atypical medium dark roasts which might taste similar to Pike Place Starbucks or Breakfast Dunkin’ Donuts to floral/acidic Ethiopian to the smoothness of Papau New Guinea for cold brew.

I had a great time talking to the staff there and learning about the volume, variety, and frequency they roast. They also gave me a couple of samples to try for their batch brews for hot and cold coffee. I bought the Ethiopia and New Guinea single origin ones. 😁

This Ethiopian single origin I’ve been drinking for the last several weeks has been delicious. I don’t think I’ve got a refined enough palate to get the tasting notes of apricots, cherries and a chocolate finish like the packaging says but its certainly great cups of coffee its been brewing.

With all the travels, decluttering, selling, and being more intentional about my activities in the past couple of months I do plan to rededicate more time into writing down more of my coffee adventures. Got some coffee gear that I’ll be writing about in the coming weeks!

Thanks for journeying with me and I’d love to grab a coffee any time.
